Privacy Policy

This website, annetadong.com, is run by Dr. Annet ADONG. You can reach me at annet@annetadong.com.

Besides the contact form, the site collects only the technical and visit information described below.

Contact form. I receive what you type into it: your name, your email address, an optional subject and your message.

Server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) and DNS provider (Cloudflare) keep ordinary technical server logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested.

Anonymous visit statistics. The site uses Vercel Analytics to count page views and see roughly where visitors come from (country, referring site, device and browser type). It does not use cookies and does not identify individual visitors.

Your details are used to read and reply to your message. They are never sold, never used for advertising and never shared, except with the service providers listed below.

These companies process data on the site’s behalf:

• Vercel covers hosting, server logs and this visit-count service.
• Cloudflare provides DNS and the Turnstile spam check, which looks at browser and network signals to tell people from bots.
• Resend delivers the contact form message to me by email.
• The email host stores the mailbox that receives your message.

Some of these providers process data outside Uganda, for example in the United States or Europe.

Messages stay in the mailbox for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. They can be deleted on request.

Under Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019, you can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw your consent. Email annet@annetadong.com and I will respond.

The site sets no cookies unless you accept analytics.

The site saves your light or dark theme choice in your browser’s local storage so it can remember it. This stays on your device and is not used for tracking.

Google Analytics only runs if you accept it in the banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, or do nothing, it is not loaded and your browser makes no requests to Google for it.

If you accept, it collects aggregated usage information: the pages you visit, your approximate location, your device and browser, and the site you came from. IP addresses are anonymised. I use this to understand how the site is used. It is not used for advertising.

It sets two cookies to recognise a returning browser, _ga and _ga_<container ID>, which last up to 2 years. Google acts as a service provider and processes this data for me. It may be processed outside Uganda, for example in the United States or Europe.

Analytics data is kept for 14 months.

You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer or Cookie settings. Declining after accepting stops collection and deletes the cookies.
